Back to Healthy Life – Tea Benefits

In the western world people are accustomed to drink coffee more than to drink tea. Tea is typical for the eastern world – India, Japan, and also for some countries where temperatures are far below zero – like Russia in the winter or where it rains almost every day – like England. In some countries there are even special rituals, connected with tea. In Russia for example, they have a special pot for preparing the tea called “samovar”. There, even in the coldest winter when temperatures reach -20°C, in every house the samovar is full of strong aroma tea which helps people go trough the cold days. In England they have the “5 o’clock tea” tradition, in Japan – they have a special tea ceremony. And how about us? Are we aware of the tea benefits or we just drinking it when we have caught a cold? Tea is known to improve our blood flow and thus influence our mood – it creates a positive mindset. Also, in some eastern practices tea is used as a kind of spiritual purification and this way it helps achieving wellness – body and mind unification. Did you know all that?

Speaking of tea benefits, one of them is that the regular consumption of black tea reduces the risk of diabetes. Green tea is good for the skin and also, when drunk regularly, they say it helps fertilization. Some special types of green tea are recommended for calories burning but they have to be taken according to a scheme. The herbal tea benefits are numerous, depending to a disease you are suffering from, you might be prescribed a special herbal tea. There are also types of herbal tea recommended for the cold weather as prophylactics.

As we mentioned, one of the tea benefits, due to its quality to balance the blood pressure and stimulate the blood flow, is that it influences our mood and creates a positive mindset. The positive mindset is something we have to work on provided that we want to live a healthy life. Being in a good mood must come from the inside, from our internal peace and if we don’t have such, we have to create it. The positive mindset permit us to see the essence of the problems we are facing, not just the annoying facts and thus we can work in order to solve them without wasting our nerves and those of the people around us.

Martial arts are something very useful for each individual who strives to find some peace and have harmony in life. In Aikido, a Japanese martial art, they say that first you have to become in harmony with yourself – meaning to reach a harmony between your body and soul. Then you have to become in harmony with all people around you. Finally, you have to become in harmony with the Universe. “To become one with the Universe”, they say. We, in our western world, call it – to reach wellness. Regardless of the fact if we call it wellness or harmony with the universe, we have to come to this state of mind which will permit us to live a life free of stress, to set up the important priorities in our lives, to have a life of full value. Wellness is something we have to learn to achieve, so let’s make the first step to this new life now.
